I just painted up a test batch of Pendraken's 10mm WSS. I have posted pics on my blog pushinglead.blogspot.com

I haven't tried OG's yet, but I think Pendraken's are pretty well done and darn easy to paint.

Thank you for looking.

Chad

Hi Chad,

It looks like some of our interests coincide. I'm interested in 10mm WSS and also Epic 40K. Good job on those Pendraken figures. I'm going to use a wash like 'the dip' to shade my figures. I'm also going gloss for a change which is almost a crime these days!

Are "C'est la Guerre" just for 2mm?

I've recently prepared uniform info to paint up lots of 10mm OG WSS figures. OG are interesting for infantry since they come in strips and so base quickly. I will probably start on them in a couple of days once I've cross referenced my uniform info with a Blenheim ORBAT to make sure I paint up a useful contingent.

I have a large unpainted Epic 40K force which I'm keen to paint. I have tons of this stuff which I bought when GW had a sale on about six years ago.I will have to catalogue it and then divide it into chapters etc. to get a varied but still usable force.

Cheers

Neil

Its pictures like that that give me an almost uncontrollable urge to go out and buy a pile of 10mm WSS, not that I don't have that urge anyway…

Very nice. Can we play snap kerynne.com/games/wss.html

I would go for all the same pose on a base -- or at least the same pose for a rank.

Pendraken 10mm WSS are lovely figures, especially the Austrian Cuirasser. Just need to find the right rules to use with them now.

Thank you for the compliments. Anyone who has read my blog can see that I am pretty much all over the place with the WSS project. I have been pretty happy with the 10mm, but can see the merits of 2mm, and 6mm.

@Chortle
I have considered the dip as well, or maybe a good going over with the new GW washes like maybe delvyn mud. For the test paint, I did not do a wash just to see how quickly they would paint up. I may still do one before I base them up.
Also, C'est la Guerre can be used for any scale, I just chose 2mm as I wanted to test the rules but did not want to use blank bases. I modified the base size and ground scale a bit to fit my tastes.
I have a bit of the Eldar left to paint myself. I will get around to posting some more pics of them in the next few weeks.

@fred12df
I like your painting style. Looks like you spent some extra time and painted the belts and small details, whereas I just painted over them.
The figures will be based as they are in the pictures. I think I may forgo the shouldered pose and stick to the firing pose for the first rank and readying pose for subsequent ranks.

Nice paint job – also great battle report – thanks!

Sapphon -- I undercoated in white, then washed in GW Flesh wash -- which made the belts and the like a nice pale brown colour -- which I avoided when painting the red coats!
