With limited vision and depth perception and not being a "modeler", how fiddly are the pre-dreds to build?

I am looking at putting together a small simple convention game, 4-6 players and on a small table(4-8) Any advice on reducing ranges etc.

as always, thanks to a great gaming commmunity.

I don't have any experience with these, but I know they are 1/1000, not 1/1200.

I have a bunch. They neeed funnels, ventilators, turrets, masts, boat davits/boats, and in some cases superstructures glued to the main casting of the hull and deckworks. I like the models but would suggest looking at something like Panzerschiffe 1/2400 models. No assembly required and less expensive. They are about 3 inches long and give a closer approximation of ground scale. In a convention setting however you may find them to be too small.

I just have a few (4) of the Houstons. I like them, but Allen57 is correct in that they do need some assembly . . . however, you can order them already assembled and painted from Dale at Great Endeavors . . . so if those are parts of the hobby that you don't enjoy, it is certainly worth considering

Pre-Dred "BBs" mostly run $12.50 USD US in to-be-assembled metal . . . and twice that ($25) if assembled and painted. Smaller ships cost less, of course, but they're still usually twice the metal price.

I have never seen their painted ships . . . but I would suggest talking to or emailing them about it:

I've got a lot of these ships for sale or trade over on bartertown at a pretty good discount. See bartertown.com in the historicals section.

thericemancometh does NOT have these on bartertown.com . . . because I bought them . . . and he shipped them quickly so I have them in my eager paws.

Of course the rather varied mix of ships will now cause me to re-think what I plan on doing. I was thinking of the Russo-Japanese War . . . but only one of the many ships fits into that . . . so now I get to change my plans, grin.

Thanks, thericemancometh.

Yeah, I realized that I forgot to post that these ships are now in a good home. Thank you Jeff…great trading with you again.
