CPT Jake, Which brand worked best for you? Walthers? Thanks. CC |
Cacique Caribe | 09 Jun 2009 9:47 a.m. PST |
Ed, Those medium sized ones look nice! link And you get six? Wow. CC |
CPT Jake | 09 Jun 2009 9:56 a.m. PST |
I used a bunch, mostly from Walthers. I use the 20 ft and 40 ft ones. I like having them pre-painted and all the company logos on them. Jake |

. 20mm? |
CPT Jake | 09 Jun 2009 2:32 p.m. PST |
The HO or 1:87 stuff tends to look good with my 15mm moderns. In my Siege of Augusta AAR on the ambush alley website you can see the table layout I used which has some of the plastic HO connexes and some HO dumpsters as well as lumber piles and a bunch of cars. link more pictures here: link link picture picture Jake |

I pulled the 1:100 ones, the look perfect next to Rebel Minis |

The Highlander stuff looks good and the price is s'nice. This is one of those cases where paper models may work, I mean they always work within reason, but IMO this is one of those times where it may be perfect for building lots of them. |

It is so great when CC gets some new project into his brain because then the rest of us get all these great ideas from his posts. |
Cacique Caribe | 09 Jun 2009 9:58 p.m. PST |
LOL! Thanks Pictors. As always, I hope the questions and posts inspire and result in fun projects and games. CC |

Old Crow do 28mm Cargo Crate in resin which is large enough to be used. I put aerials and radar dishes on them for comms pods etc. |

I have a boat load of Athern and Walthers 20 ft containers that work great with 15mm. Athern (sp?) come 4 to the box for $8 USD at my local train store. |

I seem to remember a scene in The Postman where they use shipping containers to create a gate of some sort at the military camp run by "General" Bethlehem. You can barely see some of the containers on this page. Look at the image from 20 minutes into the film (left side, towards the middle): link I would love to see photos or video of the scene showing the military camp, with the three containers that are placed so that one is supported over two others, creating an entrance underneath. Can anyone help me locate photos or video of that specific gate scene (not the one at the village)? Thanks. CC TMP link |

Nice conversion of an AT-43 container for 15mm use: TMP link CC |

Cacique Caribe, Your link to the containers with the doors and windows highlights the use of similar containers for modular OPFOR environments in the US and elsewhere. In the listing for Highlander Studio, am I right in assuming the containers are 15mm models? The figure they use for comparison is a giant among men, if his helmeted head can hit the top of the doorway in that container

Ah the great necroposter strikes again :) shapow! ***** Yet again another BBC show that we can not watch
sucks like a Hoover or a Ripley (my gaming group term for a pin hole in the hull of a spaceship) That is a fine example of using the containers for structures, good catch on both fronts. |

I found a guard for your container city link yikes right? |

I use a boat load of HO 20 foot Containers, I have like 20 or so. They might be a little on the large side scale wise, but I think they work fine. They are dirt cheep when compared to Simular miniatures company produced one. I it was $5 USD for a box of 4 at my local hobby railroad shop. Athern was the brand. |

I have some HO 20' containers that I'd like to use for a sci-fi project. I was thinking I'd rather not use Hapag-Lloyd or Maersk or other modern – day brandnames on the sides. Does anyone have a link to some "sci-fi" company names / logos that I could download and print out onto decal paper? My computer abilities are low so photoshop is beyond me, I'm afraid. Thanks in advance. |
