Hi there, I've got two friends with all the WWI 1/144 airplanes for Wings of War. I've played it about a half dozen times and like the rules. Though I also shot down a bunch of Germans with a Belgian plane and then flew off the top before being shot down! Now Combat Colours has retired that plane and won't me use it! |

Heretic! Wargaming isn't about having fun with your friends. It's about having meaningless pedantic arguments with complete strangers over minutiae that have no bearing on game play anyway. Words like "friends", "enjoy", and "like" have absolutely no place on a wargames forum. Why, if everyone had your attitude we might actually get new people joining the hobby. ;-) <Extracts tongue from cheek.>
PS I like Wings of War too. It's fun. |

Combat Colours has retired that plane All the first 3 series planes are still available. Buy that Belgian plane for yourself and foil his dastardly plot. |

Has anyone played the WWII version yet? |

Has anyone played the WWII version yet? I own it. I prefer it to the WWI version. I like the damage chit draw system because I draw the chit, write down the damage number on the bottom of a small sticky note attached to the plane's board, then put the chit back in the pile. I also like planning only a couple moves. And some other odds and ends that keep the game moving more than the WWI version. YMMV. |

I agree, CPBelt, I also like the WWII version a little better than the original (which I still enjoy). The damage chits are an improvement over the cards, IMHO. |
