Hi guys

I recently made contact with an old army buddy of mine (Trailape on this site) I hadn't seen in about 12 years, and have accepted a commission at mates rates to paint his Bavarian, Saxon and Wurttemberg figures, around 300 foot 40 cav and 18 guns, this post will give him a chance to see the progress and of the work and will be a good sounding board for the accuracy of the figures, I will be updating this post everytime I finish a unit, please post any comments especially if you see any accuracy mistakes, cheers.

Gunner Dunbar11 Jun 2009 5:00 p.m. PST

Hi guys

the Wurttemberg artillery is 98% done, just need to paint the round in the loaders hand and a couple of details on the tools, the sun was a bit harsh this morning so the blues are very bright, not as bright with the Mk I eyeball.
Foot artillery (still have to paint the shoulder boards, blue piped yellow)

Hi Dan
They look brilliant!
I'll soon update my blog with pics of the Wurtemburguers you painted, now that they are all based and flocked. I just need to get some Flags for them, (which I'll obtain / download from WARFLAG or NAPFLAG).
BTW, I've just posted some pictures of figs I've painted for a change; Brunswickers. All AB Miniatures; (of course).
Cheers

Gunner Dunbar24 Jul 2009 5:08 p.m. PST

Hi guys, this is the 1st Bavarian infantry regt made with 15mm AB and Fantassin figures, this is an interesting comparison, I have a few Fantissin figures now for Scott's and my Bavarians (I have a Bavarian army waiting to be painted and based) and my Peninsula Brits, as usual the AB figures are great but these had a little flash 8.5/10, the fantassins fit in nicely size wise with the AB, and the overall look is pretty good, they are not quite as good in some areas like the faces, I really like the command figures, they add some variety when added with ABs, they had a bit of flash and chunky bits that needed trimming, I suspect due to worn molds, they are also pewter figures, I prefer soft metal 7.5/10, the first 4 command figures and the last 4 grenadier figures in the first photo are fantissin the rest are AB

The Fantassin Spanish Militia Drummer has the same unusual stance. Must be a "Drummer" thing!

Hey Gunner, I can't find a way to contact you, from your blog.

Can you please email me at: smustafa@optonline.net

I'd like to talk to you about using some photos of your figures in my new game book – full credit, of course.

Hi Milan

Email sent.

Gunner Dunbar05 Aug 2009 11:30 p.m. PST

Hi guys

Here is the 4th Bavaria line regt, a mix of AB and Fantassin figs user, the command and Grenadiers are Fantassin and mix well with AB, the light was very yellow this arvo so the picts aren't the best, let me know what you think.

Gunner Dunbar13 Aug 2009 8:05 p.m. PST

Hi guys, this is the Bavarian 7th line regt, the usual mix of ABs and Fantassin. Only a couple of line regt to go then onto some Bavarian cav regts. Check out my mates blog at trailape.blogspot.com for some other figs I have painted for him, that he has mounted, he has done a top notch job on the bases, and has the 1812 Grande Armee coming together nicely, as well as some excellent Spanish.

Steve W21 Aug 2009 6:00 p.m. PST

What rules are you going to be using Trailape?

trailape23 Aug 2009 2:08 a.m. PST

Hi
I've Based for "Age of Eagles", (which I like), but suspect that I'll be playing Sam Mustafa's Honour System, "Lasalle":
sammustafa.com/honour.html
Fortunatly the AoE bases will work well with "Lasalle".
You can see all the work done by Dan that I've received and based thus far at my BLOG: trailape.blogspot.com
