Dear all,

Yesterday was a bank holiday in Switzerland, so I updated my flickr gallery.

Here you will find pictures from my collection.

Wargames Factory – Romans, Celts and 1879 British.
BTD Zulu War artillery and officers.
Gorgon Spartans
WW2 figures from Artizan, Crusader and BTD
Zvezda Roman artillery with WF crews.

Those Romans came out really well.

Great photography by the way, Mick. You must give us a tutorial some time.

Thank-you nycjadie

The WF Romans do actually look very good when you paint them up. The shield transfers are really good. Altogether I have 96 painted.

Photography was done with a Canon Digital SLR. The best photos were done outside in the garden but out of direct sunlight. I placed the figures on a white melamine board. The camera was on a tripod and exposure set to 1/60 to get the best possible depth of field. I cleaned the photos in Microsoft Photo Editor using the colour improvement to pick out the white background.

Yes, I just started experimenting with outdoor pictures. It's so much better. Tough for me though, as I live in New York City. I have to wait until the I get out of town to photograph them!

You can see my recent attempts here:

I especially like the way the GW grass mat sort of matches the real grass and foliage in the background. Believe it or not, that was completely unintentional.

I like your flags – what are they and how did you do them?

nycjadie02 Jun 2009 4:04 p.m. PST

I bought the flags from Rick at the Flag Dude. He's based in the States and sells at the HMGS conventions. I had him make these custom and I believe he now offers them in his store. On retrospect, I wish the colors were a bit more vivid. These are produced on paper but he does silk as well. His ACW flags are amazing.

Correction – The photos were done in Microsoft Office Picture Manager – it is a standard product in the office suite.
