Hey there, some good looking ships there, and an interesting choice of bases; tell me, what are they made from? Those WTJ sculpts look nice and crisp, did the masts come with, or did you do those yourself? Cheers, SteelonSand. |

SteelonSand: thanks for the kind words. The bases are custom Litko thin bases. The ships are based as per "Fire when Ready" to help with turning. The masts are additional, I used a dremel to drill holes and insert bass rod. |

Very nice little models you finished, PAR, and I like how the bases are cut and finished. Until recently, I didn't know that the pre-Spanish-American War livery of Spanish naval vessels consisted of a white hull with buff upper works. According to some accounts, at the Battle of Manila Bay, the unprotected cruiser Castilla was sunk wearing her peacetime colors. By the way, here's a site I found recently that has some nice graphic renditions of the naval ships of the U.S. and Spanish navies during the war: link EXCELLENT work, PAR, and thanks for sharing your pics! |
