For your viewing (and listening) pleasure, I have posted several hundred pictures from the Chino Planes of Fame Airshow.

British forces were represented by a Hellcat, a Firefly and a Sea Fury. The theme of the event was Grumman aircraft and they were quite numerous with formations of both F7F Tigercats and F8F Bearcats.

The Sea Fury is here: picture

The story behind the Firefly is here: link

and the whole album is here:

Those Sea Fury's are powerful brutes.

Rather fun to watch racing each other in Reno, at the end of Summer.

P-51's don't seem to be able to compete with them very well, at low level, as far as speed goes. Of course, these are heavily modified for extra HP, but they are still a wonderful sight to see.

Recommended, if you can make the trip.

The Hawker Sea Fury has a storied career. The Royal Navy used them in the Korean War, and Castro's Fuerza Aérea Revolucionaria used them during the Bay of Pigs in 1961.

Thanks for sharing, Wyatt! thumbs up

There is a documented case of a Sea Fury downing a Mig 15. Saw one at a Midwest Airshow three summers ago. Very red paint job.

I really liked 224 of 684. Caught that P-63 Kingcobra just as the under-carraige was going home. That was some airshow, judging by the pictures.
