I'm looking for some human interest material / stories about RFC/RAF Squadrons No. 1, 2, & 3. Would prefer material from 1917 or 1918.

These can be from a published source or maybe you have an family member that served in one of these units.

What's your favorite story?

I'd probably start with the Osprey Aircraft of the Aces series and see what's there. 1 Sqd flew Nieuports in 1917 and 3 sqd Camels so perhaps look in those two volumes for starters – they do tend to have snippets of the sort of thing you may be after. 2 sqd I'm not so sure about.

Alan McLeod VC served in No. 2 Squadron. No. 2 flew Be-2s then transitioned to AWFK8s (the type McLeod flew). No. 3 flew Morane Parasols until it transitioned to Camels in mid-1917. Cecil Lewis flew Moranes with No. 3 before he was transferred to No. 56 Sqd.
