Subject: Dornier Do-335
Manufacturer: Air Alex airalex.com/KITSFORSALE.html
Scale: 1/144
Medium: resin
Price: $16 USD

The kit consists of a one piece fuselage/wing/tail assembly, cowling, propellers, landing gears, and two canopies (clear or a light-tan resin). The kit comes with decals and an instruction sheet too picture . The mini required a little cleaning, trimming, and putty but nothing too demanding. The hardest part for me was the reconstruction of some exhaust stacks that weren't fully cast. The kit has outlines identifying the canopy frame and observation windows. The control surfaces are also outlined. Since this mini is meant for gaming I filled-in the landing gear wells and and trimmed the blades off of the propeller spinners.

Recommendation: Nice mini, I recommend it. Modeling skills are required as it does need some filling, trimming, and assembly. If you read the text on the Air Alex site you'll note that they consider their kits "challenging". But, they also indicate that they are willing to help out if things go wrong.

Check out the Air Alex website (first link above) as there are some very interesting models there, many not available in 1/144 any place else.

Post assembly:
Decals: I-94 for the national markings and True North for the aircraft ID markings.
Paint: Vallejo Model Colors
Primer: Rust-Oleum Gray Automotive Primer
Matte Finish: Krylon Crystal Clear Matte

Thanks for the post Kevin;
I always liked that plane,
had a plastic model of it back in my youth and remember first seeing a picture of it in a "12 o'clock High" card game, also back in the day.

Joe, funny you should mention that game. I've got it sitting down in my work room. It pictured some rather obscure planes in my opinion. Kevin

It sure did, like(I think) the He-100.
I remember the cards were large and the photos were all vintage looking.
Don't think I ever played that game, but I loved looking over the cards.

Keep up the good work on your aircraft.

Kev -

Those two look "mean". Bet they made the B-17 crews nervous. Would love to play a CY6 game with them just to see how they would do.

Good Job!!!
