You started the last topic on this, yet failed to see the News Item? TMP link |

I placed an order on March 25th and it still has not arrived. I have sent them 2 emails with no response prior to their announcement on April 27th they are shutting down until May 13th. I am not sure how much longer I should wait. |

This is ridiculous. Doesn't anyone ever think of looking back at previous threads? On May 1st, on the TMP thread at TMP link I wrote: "Please allow me to de-mystify the situation with Figures in Comfort once and for all (though, knowing the nature of TMP, I'm sure th topic will arise again and again). Julian Evans, owner of FIC, is a British Army veteran and he suffers badly from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which means that he has to go for regular bouts of residential treatment at Hollybush House, a treatment centre owned and run by the charity Combat Stress (our government provides scandalously little for traumatised veterans, which is why I'm running the Battlegames Combat Stress Appeal -- see justgiving.com/battlegames). These treatments often last a week or more. He is an honest man, but he is ill, and whilst I obviously can't comment on individual cases (no pun intended) it's clear that at times, his condition prevents him fulfilling the high standards of service he has set himself. As a lone businessman myself, I know how long hours for little reward can start to get on top of a person, and I can only imagine how much worse it must be if one is suffering from a chronic psychological condition caused by unspeakable trauma." That's all well and good, and I do wish him a speedy recovery – but these folks are still out their money. There's quite a few examples of this happening prior to the recent announcement, not to mention Berzerker73's order that he's stated was placed in March. If you wish to identify with him as a sole operator then I would recommend you put some sort of action plan in place where if something (knock on wood) were to happen to you – your business matters would be attended to. What "is ridiculous" is not that someone has not looked up 2 week old threads, but rather that someone, who you state 'as to go for regular bouts of residential treatment at Hollybush House' does not have some sort of action plan in place when he knows full well that this is going to be something he will be dealing with off and on for quite some time – not exactly a 'high standard of service' is it? |

Old threads on TMP aside, their website says We are currently closed until the 13th May due to health reasons. All outstanding orders will be processed as soon as possible once we re-open. Sorry for any inconvenience. Which seems fairly unambiguous. |

While I sympathise with the problems of the owner, I empathise with those who have paid money for products that have not arrived. The simple solution is for the owner to not process any payments for products before actually sending the item out. At least that way no customer is out money in advance and if they have to wait, they wait, but with their money. |

"BWWWWWWWWWWAAAAHHHH! I don't care a damn about you or your health. I want my stuff, and I want it NOW! BWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Jeez <roll eyes> |

Some people have no patience (or are just plain self-centred), and there are other methods of communication apart from email; so I suggest the babies use them. |

Ive met Julian at various trade shows and have had great service from him- his products are also really very good, inlcuding honouring a very good deal he was doing at one show where he had totaly sold out of the deal- he posted them onto me withina fortnight at the sale price and post and packing free. Cant say fairer than that |

Having sooke to him after making an order I too must also add what a decent bloke he is ,sorting out the problem I had quickly. The case I have is an excellent piece of kit and I will be ordering from him in the future. In fact I have an order placed with him just now but I am prepared to wait.A mans health is way more important. |
| Scutatus | 13 May 2009 9:41 a.m. PST |
Wot Serotonin and Danzig said. Priorities people. It is a shame that some aren't getting their product, but you know, a man's health is more important than business. Wait for a refund – or your purchase – with some pretence of tolerance and understanding and quit complaining. |

Not seen this on the news pages yet- link
"I have run Figures in Comfort for the past 8/9 years and over that time it has grown in to the largest case and storage company currently around. Over this time I have had great fun and managed to meet many great people (you know who you are)
As people will be aware my health has not been great and over the last year I have had more time off than we could afford which is detrimental to any company. To that end I have put the company up for sale and contracts and final hand over should happen in the very near future. The new owner will be helping me over the next couple of weeks sorting the back log and also building things for the future. I would like to take this opportunity to thank people for their help over the last few years: Pete from Baccus, South London Warlords, Gripping Beast to name a few. I will still be sorting out the charity figures over the next couple of months so I won't disappear completely, and I hope to be handing over the first cheque at one of the shows in the near future. Once again thanks for your support and I hope that you will continue to support the new owner as I know our cases and trays are still the best quality on the current market." Best of luck to Jules with his health struggles. As someone working in psychiatry I have a little bit of an idea how hard it can be. |

I have sent futher emails and I still have gotten no response. But I see there was time for Jules to post on TMP. I am sympathetic to the owner's health problems. All I am asking for is an update on my order. If the figures are not in stock or there is a delay in the order, just let me know. The last email I received on 3/25 was my order would be dispatched after Salute. I guess I will wait a few more weeks before contacting my credit card company. |

Have you conisdered that there may be an email problem- wrong account name or even a psam filter problem on either end? Why not just ring the guy? |

Hi All Well, I knew there were some personal issues, and I am grateful for Henry's info, above. But I am in a similar position. I placed an order in March and have had no order, and no refund (requested a number of times now). I have had one brief telephone conversation. Unfortunately I have had to notify FiC of my intention to begin legal action to recover my money in 14 days if I do not receive a refund. This is rubbish, all round, and I feel rotten about it. But, as a sole trader myself, you're either running a business or your not
it simply isn't 'on' to take folk's cash, bank it, earn interest on it and provide nothing in return
no order fulfillment, no reply emails, no telephone calls returned, no refund
nothing. @Serotonin: FiC email address works – I had one regarding order status. I feel I have been really patient
6 months
and I haven't hassled them
I have just asked politely. Initially I rolled with it, only canceling my order in early July. Shame. Paul |

referring to the initial comments re FIC and Julians condition I have to say that PTSD is indeed a terrible thing and my heart goes out to anyone afflicted in this way, however, in order to fulfil orders a temp could be employed could he/she not? This is a sad state for FIC and I have a carry case purchased from FIC when I met who must have been Julian at his first show. The product is good and has served me well. Perhaps Julian should sell up or employ someone if indeed the PTSD is the only obstacle as when money is involved one cannot afford the luxury of time. Good luck to everyone involved in this sorry situation. |
