Subject: FW-189
Manufacturer: Peter's Planes petersplanes.com
Scale: 1/144
Medium: resin
Price: A$10

The kit consists of a one piece boom/wing/tail assembly, a fuselage, landing gears, and propellers. Peter also makes vacu-form and clear resin parts available for the canopies. The mini required a little cleaning and filling but nothing too demanding. The kit has outlines identifying canopy and observation panels and windows. The control surfaces are also outlined. Peter has decals available for this model too. Since this mini is meant for gaming I filled-in the landing gear wells and made my own propeller spinners (the kit has propellers but I didn't want to fiddle with cutting off the blades & sanding the kit's spinners smooth).

Recommendation: Nice mini, I recommend it. Basic modeling skills required as it does need some filling, some fitting, and assembly. I'm working on one of his Fokker G1.As, there's one of his Walrus models sitting on the bench, and I'm waiting for a load of float planes and Vultee Vengeance minis to arrive…yes, I recommend Peter's Planes.

Check out the Peter's Planes website (first link above) as there are some very interesting models there, many not available in 1/144 any place else.

Other – the US dollar to Australian dollar exchange rate is pretty good right now. Shipping from Australia to Virginia (USA) took under 10 days.

Post assembly:
Decals: from the bits box…probably leftover from an Eduard Ju-87 kit.
Paint: Vallejo Model Colors
Primer: Rust-Oleum Gray Automotive Primer
Matte Finish: Krylon Crystal Clear Matte

That's one funky looking airplane…

Well done as usual, Kevin. Quite a lot of cockpit glass to paint on that aircraft!

Kev -

Looking good as usual. What made the glass look so lumpy?
