Looking to get some ideas of the color differences between Iraqi armor and US armor. Are these basically the smae shade? What differences should there be?

Iraqi armor has more black?

Does that mean take the sand colro and add some black to tone it down?

Depends on the period. When I was in Baghdad in 07 you could tell Iraqi Army armored humvees at a distance because they were painted sand with chocolate brown camouflage splotches (I think – it was always after sundown). When you got closer you could tell they carried Soviet 12.7mm guns instead of american .50-cals. Their tanks and other pre-occupation armor are the same color as ours (the ones in the Taji boneyard were, anyway). Stykers (US only) are for some reason always solid OD green.

Saber6 is referring to scorch marks – most Iraqi armor was destroyed in the first war.
