Aliens Dropship… eat your heart out.
GW Valkyie… whatever.

I just found the coolest gaming worthy VTOL I've ever laid my eyes on.
link

I found this little jewel at Target today during my lunch break. They had two in stock and I snapped both of them up.

After busting one of them out of the packaging I put it up against some of my 28mm figs.
picture
Here you see a top view of it compaired to:
AT-43 Therian and UNA Trooper
Urban War Viridian Marine
Pig Iron Heavy Infantry
You can also see it against GZGs 15mm Phalanx AFV.

At twenty dollars, this thing puts just about every large gaming scale aircraft to shame. The details on this thing pop beautifully, hardly any defects to speak of… perfect for use right out of the box or prime it up and paint away. The lift engines swivel about by turning that knurled wheel in the center of the vehicle. Landing gear easily and neatly retracts and has a pair of shootable missles that can be converted to heavy cannons of your desire.

You can use this as a Support VTOL or light dropship for your 28mm games or a heavy dropship for your 15mm action.

You can't go wrong with this bad boy!

Enjoy!

Wow. My wife is going to kill me now. Thanks.

Man … qualifies for free shipping if you order two of them from Amazon.

And the day is so young.

Oh, wow… that's great!

alien BLOODY HELL surfer07 May 2009 4:39 p.m. PST

The 6" tall 'tank/tracked termie' is pretty nice too, typically UK amazon don't have them. Still, I could always ask the mother in law to get me some when she goes stateside later this year :-)

Sergeant Crunch07 May 2009 4:55 p.m. PST

ooh, I think I need to call my wife while she's and tell her to stop by Target…

Top Gun Ace07 May 2009 5:05 p.m. PST

That is a Hunter-Killer, from the Terminator movies.

deanoware07 May 2009 5:30 p.m. PST

they are starting to appear at Toys R Us as well.

deanoware07 May 2009 5:30 p.m. PST

do any compartments open?

CMikeHardy07 May 2009 5:35 p.m. PST

No compartments. The only moving parts are the engines and the landing gear.

nazrat07 May 2009 5:45 p.m. PST

What an incredible model! Thanks for the head's up, and even more importantly the comparison shots. It looks absolutely perfect with 28mm.

The front compartment opens

The front compartment opens

SOMEONE knows where the secret panel is…

Ed the Two Hour Wargames guy07 May 2009 6:25 p.m. PST

Yes, it's not well spelled out on the directions.
Flip it over and pull the landing gear under the guns and it pops open. Can't see much use for it though.

Chuckaroobob07 May 2009 6:40 p.m. PST

The "Secret Compartment" on the underside is so you can give the infantry terminator a ride. He fits in there.

No, I'm serious.

Smokey Roan07 May 2009 6:43 p.m. PST

Uh, I found that, and posted that it is a great 15-28mm dropship first! (early last week)

:(

There is no justice.

Smokey Roan07 May 2009 6:59 p.m. PST

Seriously. I'm about to start the "No justice, no peace" chant!

:)

CMikeHardy07 May 2009 7:00 p.m. PST

I see that it's been talked about a little bit in the past, no, I haven't seen your post Smokeyroan… but, it ain't like I'm trying to steal your thunder. I'm just showing folks what I got.
… And the comparison shots.

And, no I wasn't aware that there was a "secret" compartment! *laughs* It's worthless, but, yes, I do stand corrected.

Smokey Roan07 May 2009 7:13 p.m. PST

I was joking. :) (but I did find it first) :) :) :)

Inari707 May 2009 7:14 p.m. PST

Hey Mike how are you going to base the thing I don't think my flight stands will work for it.

any suggestions?

BTW I just picked up mine at Target as well.

I also have three of the tanks comming to me in a trade. There is gonna be some terminater battles soon.

…………..Doug

Top Gun Ace07 May 2009 7:31 p.m. PST

Not sure how heavy it is, but our 5" based Flight Stands might work for it.

Best regards,

Rob

CMikeHardy07 May 2009 8:10 p.m. PST

It seems a tad heavier than a Tau Hammerhead tank. so, I -think- I can use a large flight base for it.
I'm thinking instead of the plastic rod, I would use brass rod or tube. That should do nicely.

My conundrum is figuring out who it goes better with- the AT-43 troops, the Pig Iron Troops or the Viridian Marines.

Cheers!

CMikeHardy07 May 2009 8:12 p.m. PST

Top Gun's bases'll probably work great too!

John Leahy Sponsoring Member of TMP07 May 2009 8:29 p.m. PST

Wow, awesome! I've just decided to run a 25mm Terminator game at Warparty in June. I plan on having at least 4 of the tracked Terminators and 2 of the Hunter Killers to battle my Copplestone Jungle Troopers and Scavengers along with a few Apache Gunships and M1 tanks. :-D

Ahhhhh yes………

Thhanks for posting this!

John

mweaver07 May 2009 11:44 p.m. PST

Yup, it looks great.

Top Gun Ace07 May 2009 11:46 p.m. PST

The terminator that comes with it is quite large.

I'm guessing 40mm – 50mm's tall.

tnjrp08 May 2009 2:09 a.m. PST

Hmm, that's pretty good actually. The tank isn't bad either. Thanks for the heads-up.

Dewbakuk08 May 2009 3:12 a.m. PST

Got to wait until the 15th here in the UK before the toy is released.

CMikeHardy08 May 2009 5:56 a.m. PST

"The terminator that comes with it is quite large."

Oh yeah. It's too big for anything I'm doing.
So, it went to my 6yo son. He was overjoyed!

Cheers!

WarWizard08 May 2009 7:12 a.m. PST

Whoa, that looks great. Thanks for the info.

Smokey Roan08 May 2009 7:41 a.m. PST

The Terminator that comes with it is 3 and 1/2" tall.

Would make a good Kaiju for 6mm. :)

Goldwyrm08 May 2009 8:57 a.m. PST

I picked one of these up at a Horror/Sci-fi convention about 3 weeks ago. If I had more cash I would have bought the other 4..

I want to hear about someone getting Bleeped texted at his dice rolls and using that cannon launcher to take some figures out in frustration.

svsavory10 May 2009 7:23 a.m. PST

Steve, I'm with you. It would work nicely with my SST minis.

mweaver10 May 2009 7:53 a.m. PST

Picked one up yesterday. It looks great. Need to work on a flight stand.

Xintao10 May 2009 9:18 a.m. PST

I hit Target yesterday while Mothers Day shopping. Woot SST dropship. I might have to go back and buy the 2nd one.

Cheers, Xin

GreatScot7210 May 2009 6:20 p.m. PST

Score!!! Thanks to this thread, I went to Target and picked up one. It will serve as a great all purpose dropship. I intend to scratchbuild an underhanging compartment for delivering troops and power armor to the battlefield.

I don't think it will see much service in flight, but it will GREAT as an objective/deployment site on the table!

Whiskyrat11 May 2009 8:23 a.m. PST

Thanks guys – I've just ordered a T-100 and pre-ordered the HK from Play.com :-)

Thieses11 May 2009 8:01 p.m. PST

I have two of these. I repainted them to match my tracked HK figure (they are painted black, not chrome) Just a little Mythril silver paint, and pow! Instant HK. Well worth the money.
