The MagWeb server is still off line, and support@ and magweb@ e-mails to our server will only bounce. I don't have an ETA on getting MagWeb back up and running, but I know that when it does get back online, it will be in a different format. We've found that we just can't rebuild something this large built over the last 13 years in just a few months.

As MagWeb has not been updated since the end of September, we here at MagWeb agreed that we should offer a refund to members' credit cards for the unused portions (October onward) of memberships. Our guru, Tibor, has done most of the work, and this will appear as a credit on your next Visa or Mastercard statement -- anywhere from $4.08 USD on up depending on when you joined.

So, I'll apologize (once again) for any inconvenience and thank you (once again) for all your support of MagWeb past, present, and future. I'll also try to cruise TMP more, or at least the "Websites for Wargaming" section.

Feel free to point folks to this message in TMP or repost this message elsewhere on the web.

I am looking forward to you going back online, I now regret having put it off for so long.

I hope it comes back stronger than ever.

Russ,

Thanks for the update! Magweb is a great concept, and a fantastic addition (and addiction!) to the hobby. I certainly hope to see the site back, and stronger than ever, soon!

Thank you for all your support.

All members of MagWeb should have received a credit to their credit cards by now -- Tibor had processed them on May 6. A few bounced (changed credit cards) so we are trying to tie up the loose ends there, contacting by e-mail, etc.

Many of them, pleasantly surprised at the refund effort, thanked us and told us "to keep the change" and that MagWeb had provided much more information and enjoyment than what they had paid. Those kind words brought a smile to my face at a time when I'm usually grinding my teeth. :)

That said, no process is perfect, so we may have missed a member or two with the refunds. If you think you're one of them and wish a refund, contact me direct at my personal e-mail address: lockwood@voicenet.com We'll make it right.

All this said, it looks like we'll be taking down the MagWeb.com site at the end of May or first week of June. Again, I have no ETA of its replacement -- still working out the (lots of) details. So if you haven't downloaded that special article, now's the time to do so.

As always, feel free to point folks to this message in TMP or repost this message elsewhere on the web. Thank you.

Again, thank you all for your kind words. Some have contacted me saying there were questions about MagWeb elsewhere around the web. As I don't know exactly where folks see such questions, I'd appreciate it if you would direct them here, or repost the following. Thanks in advance!

Russ –

Terribly sorry to hear about the site being down. Magweb is a huge asset to the gaming community and if there is anything I can do to help, please feel free to let me know.

Cheers,

Tom
