I did a Battleship/Battlecruiser shoot-em-up game in WW-1 to give our gamers in Portland,Oregon a feel for General Quarters II rules. The Germans had a squadron of 5 BC's, and two Squadrons of BB's (5 each) vs a British fleet of three squadrons of BB's (5,5,4).

It started with 2 British squadrons (5,4)of ships engaging a German BC Sqn and one BB Sqn, with the other Sqns of both sides entering later. The British started to fire at way too long of range, the German BC's waited until the third turn before engaging. The German BB's opened up with a resounding cresando of fire, pulverising a British battlewagon with three salvo hits on it. The British Sqn with only 4 ships in it (I forgot to bring the Iron Duke) engaged the German BB Sqn while the other UK Sqn engaged the German BC's.

At the end of the game - No German ships lost, but heavily damaged, even with the arrival of the third squadron of BB's. The British fleet lost 4 ships sunk, 3 heavily damaged, 2 lightly damaged. But the third UK Sqn (5 ships) were fresh as a daisy and if we fought on would have given the battle to the British.

Does any one have an battle reports to exchange? What rules are you using? I would like to replay them sometime. But I have only 3 to 4 hours in order to do so.

Sounds like fun, I'd love to play a game like that sometime.
