Sorry, no unicorn. It has been beaten to death and more, for so long that there is only a damp spot in the dust and a few scraps of hide. I think that's an ear over there. Don't know where the horn went.

Been reading only today this thread.

If I'd care that much, my pet peeves about Battlefront are:

a)their approach at triviliazing nazi regalia especially towards the younger generations (the nazi sets, the nazi shirts, the cool effect of waffen SS, etc…)

b)the overal inconsistent (or IMHO decreased) quality of their sculpts

c)as for the rules, I do not care for them much, being now happy with BKC,CWC and ASL

As for the impact, we played FOW at my club for half a year and the game died off per lack of ability to reproduce our understanding of WWII tactics. It did not attract new players. Oddly enough what did attract new players were Farwest style games and Bloodball. The new players then started to build napoleonic or WWII armies.

supergroover is a bit over the top some time, but he had an interesting perspective to offer. As for the "mob" getting on his case, a bit less self-righteousness would be the charitable thing to do.

Good week-end and have fun gaming.
