Hello all, I'm going to be attending the Bristol Table Top Sale in a few weeks, selling some 28mm pre-painted terrain. I've never traded at a show before and would appreciate any hints/tips/horror stories to help me out. Cheers Dave yearoffrugalgaming.blogspot.com P.S. My girlfriend said that if I wear a bumbag, she'll leave me. |

Have everything sorted and pack carefully – nothing worse than not being well organised for your customers or discovering that you probably should have spent more time packaging your items carefully. By sorted I'm reffering more to on table, not the boot of your car! |

Take change. No one ever has any. Sell cheap. |

I'd recommend a minimum of £50.00 GBP as float, plenty of £1.00 GBP coins. If you have any items with prices like £9.99, make sure you have plenty of pennies too. Make sure things are clearly labelled as to the price. Remember to take carry bags (unlike yours truly who forgot to take any to Bolton, doh!!!) Oh, and sod the girlfriend! Wear a bugbag as your cashbag. The Bristol show is a great show, and very safe, but accidentally leaving your cashbox somewhere accessible is not a good idea. |

Cheers Guys, My terrain may be a bit delicate, so I think I'll take some bubblewrap and offer to 'hold' any purchases until the end of the day. |

price in round numbers, have some boxes/bags to facilitate packing as most people shopping won't. I was selling my books [in the US] for $5, 10, 15 etc
.no $7, $14.99 USD or $18. USD That way didn't have to worry about too many singles/change. Most people carry $10/20 bill. I use a lot of $5s & $10s for change. prices clearly labeled, and the goods on a table, not on a floor or buried in a box. don't make it a chore for people to see your stuff and wonder the price. if you are flexible a small card saying "Interested? Make Offer", or "All offers considered". |
