News this week of the Espresso machine which is a book printing and binding machine that will be found in bookshops which will have links to archives of books including out-of-print material.

The idea seems to be to produce one-off prints so it could be an alternative to reading pdf files on a laptop.

Handy for the holidays or reading on a plane or train.

…and will all this archive material be out of copyright?

Mike the Analyst28 Apr 2009 3:01 p.m. PST

Seems to depend on the archive in use. I have seen some links to sites already mined on this forum for old books.

There is some information to suggest that even books that are current but not on the shelf could be printed to order and priced at the publishers rrp.

I understand that you will be able to bring a pdf file of a book and get it printed.

Sounds great,

John
