A bit ago someone was asking about Steel Panthers TMP link It was reported that SP and Vista doesn't get along
LIES!! LIES I SAY!! I just loaded it, twinked it and relived some of my old glories
I had to make it run in XP Compatibility mode. If you're not sure how to do this
*Right click the shortcut Icon *Click on Properties *Check the box "Run this program in Compatibility Mode for" and set the drop down to "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". This made the game run with FUNKY colors, so I also had to mess around and I finally checked the Settings box "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" And I'm back in business!!!!!!!!!! I hope this helps and you all can get your SP: World at War running too! Dave |

For every success story with a PC there will 10 or more that fail. PC are too quirky to have good solutions. Nothing is standard and what works on one computer will not on another for a laundry list of possible reasons. |

I got Age of Rifles to run on XP. It is just pot luck with the video drivers for that one. |

And yet, you can't play these games on a MAC. :) |

Apple is not bullet proof but far superior to PC in reliability. Some emulators were about that would allow some games to run. But tech knowledge is needed and much configuration. I don't know if newer macs can do that. It always was a crap shoot. Computers are always a headache. There's two cons for every pro in Computer gaming. |

Windows 7 now has 'embedded XP' which goes beyond compatibility mode in it's ability to run. Truly runs native not emulated. Win 7 will actually run older apps better than Vista. link |

And yet, you can't play these games on a MAC. :) You cant play them on alot of PC either. Just cause it works on your PC doent mean it will on another. there are to many variables. All games have this issue. I jsut upgraded SPWAW and now it wont run. MAtrix says my computer is TOO NEW LOL. Same thing with Combat Mission. |
