Hi All. I am currently working on another project for my two sons right now on the Star Wars Universe. I have purchased many of the WoTC miniatures including all of the blaster guns and other turrets, but I would like to possibly design (or purchase if necessary) some blaster turrets similar to the ones they had in front of the Shield Bunker on Endor as seen in the movie or more recently on Battlefront 2. It is the kind of turret that a person can walk onto the platform with a small shield cover around about three quarters of the sides, a small cut out for the blaster, and no cover, so the poor chap standing at the gun has his head and partial upper torso exposed. Any ideas of materials to use or where I might find such a piece for gaming using the WoTC minis??

Any and all ideas that might be useful are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance on behalf of both myself, but more importantly my two boys.
Regards,
Hitman

a paint pot from coat de arms (or the old ones they used to make for citadel) could be cut to shape.

Perhaps small dixie cups. Upside down and cut to the shape of the front shield, then glued to a GW base in the center.

Why can't I picture this? I don't have Battlefront, and don't remember there being turrets outside the bunker on Endor. When do you see them in the movie? Is it before or after Han gropes Leia?

I don't recall the groping, but they have these turrets all over Battlefront. They are quite nice little installations. Usrivoy3, you have given me an idea…the little plastic cups they use or use to use in hospitals for administering pills. Great idea!! Now I'll have to get sick or something.

So they're just in the game then?

oh he gropes her.. right when she gets shot in the arm. Grabs her breast and asks if she is ok…

But those cannons aren't in the film, just the game.

Russ Lockwood, here at OMM (actually having some post-Historicon info about my rules sets Hyperspace Hack and Snappy Nappy)…

A buddy of mine, for a ground game, came up with a couple of turrets made out of a small plastic cup for the base (primed black and drybrushed concrete color gray) and for the gun turret part, used a soda bottle cap (off a 2-liter bottle) with 2 small brass tubes bored into the cap and glued in place. Cap primed black, drybrushed concrete gray, barrels painted black. He also cut a small bit of slightly larger tubing to glue on the end for a muzzle (not that you need one for lasers, though it looks cool). You can turn the laser "turret" 360-degrees, and it is extremely inexpensive (small diameter brass tubes at hobby shop).
