Just wondering if anyone knew of some good fiction books that deal with the Wars of the Roses.

The Sunne in Splendour by Sharon Penman.
focuses on the career of Richard III.

Agree, just read the Sunne in Splendour, excellent book!

I'll ask the wife for some later – she's the WotR buff in this house (and there are lots of books in this house!)

Uh, "The Lord of the Rings"?

Sorry. Couldn't help myself. See the other "WOTR" thread further down. There is a new pretender trying to usurp this acronym.

Try Shakespeare. Henry VI 1, 2, 3 and Richard III

Or there's Robert Louis Stevenson's "Black Arrow" downloadable at link

I third "Black Arrow".

She Who Must Be Obeyed says read:

We Speak No Treason: The White Rose Turned to Blood by Rosemary Hawley Jarman ( link )

As well as The Sunne in Splendour ( link )

Both can be found on Amazon for 1p!

Black Arrow is okay but not 100% historical and not big sweeping epics like the above.

Shakespeare is pure Tudourist propaganda twaddle ( according to SWMBO ) !

Re "Shakespeare is pure Tudourist propaganda twaddle (according to SWMBO)!"

But he is asking for fiction!

"We Speak No Treason"
I've heard good things about that one, but never seen it is bookstores.

Rosemary Hawley Jarman has written a few good WOTR novels. A few other fictional novels are
"A Trail of Blood" Stephen Potter
"King of Albion" Julian rathbone
The Percy Trilogy by Carole Wensby Scott
"The Dragon Waiting" John Ford
"Fortune's Wheel & A Touch of Pity" Rhoda Edwards
"The Swan & the Rose" Francis Leary
"A Daughter of Time" Josephine Tey
I really enjoyed Robert Farrington's trilogy "The Killing of Richard III, The Traitors of Bosworth & Tudor Agent".
