Well I'm in the process of collecting a set of 2009 NASCAR COT cars in 1/64th scale dicasts. It seems the market has really dropped off, as when I did it in 2003 there where 3 flavors of cars from a number of manufacturers; open hood fully tricked out (only source for adult branding say any Beer), Closed hood with painted windows and better wheels, and kids versions cheaper versions with just clear plastic and toy wheels.

Now it seems there are only 2 flavors are out there, OH and kid, and only a few drivers get the OH versions. So I'm stuck with filling out my field with the kid versions. So I have a lot of clear plastic windows that need to be painted. I suspect, I'm going to have to mask them with painter tape, expose the bars with an exacto knife and spray paint them.

I'm looking for a better solution if there is one out there, its going to be a fair amount of work painting the Bleeped texts.

I think the best method is the painter tape but you could try Maskol. Personally I found it's somewhat embarrasing to remove (usually with pincers) and also it's difficult to get a good straight line.

This page may help as it have several methods:

BTW, depending on the masking tape you use (not Maskol), think about reusing it for other cars of the same model once applied in the first if removed carefully.

I've used white glue to mask, but on much larger models. Might not work so great for what you're doing. Otherwise, I'd vote masking tape, too. Palafox has a great idea about saving the tape, too – I'll bet you can get a couple of uses out each piece at least.
