Perhaps an odd request, but does anyone know of any photos available online that show the new Warlord ECW plastics alongside GW Empire or Mordenheim militia plastics? Thanks! Jason |

I am interested in a size comparison as well. |

>>>I am interested in a size comparison as well.<<< Same here, and not an odd request at all Hrothgar. I've been occasionally lobbying around TMP for for (metric) rules to be included by manufacturers in images of their figures in Hobby News and their own websites. It it possible we'd not buy if we knew up front their figures won't be compatible with our existing armies? Well, yes, logically enough
But, OTOH, if I know these figures are the "right size" I'm also likely to order a tidy pile straight off instead of waiting weeks or months for some kind soul to provide the (basic) info being requested in this thread. |

Somebody planning a Dogs of War or Empire army using those models? I am not surprised. I actually saw one of those models earlier this month on a news stand (on the WI cover) but did not really pay attention to the size. Griefbringer |

Do gw empire figures even vaguely resemble troops from the ecw? |

GW Empire figures are more of 16th century in the style of their dress. Then again, it is a fantasy game, and the style of dress for them has not been entirely consistent in the past. So if some graf decides on a new fashion of dress for his troops, you have perfect excuse for using the ECW models as his regiment. (And armament-wise, Empire also uses guns and pointy sticks, so that is not a problem.) Griefbringer |

You can always present them as Estalians:) |

I just saved a comparison pic to Photobucket: picture Warlord musketeer – Old GW Empire halberd – Old militia – Mid-Handgunner – Mid-Spearman converted to swordsman – New handgunner. Squares on paper background are 5mm, I put a spacer under the Warlord fig. to raise his base even with the GW plastic bases. All of them are about 27mm from toes to eyes. Cliff |

Camcleod: Many thanks for the image with the 5mm squares reference. It does appear that these figures would look OK on the same table with such as Renegade & Bicorne (perhaps even Redoubt?) albeit not mixed but each brand within their own units? |

I did another comarison shot of various ECW ranges: picture All the figures are broadly compatable. Renegade is the largest and most bulky. The Redoubt fig. is one with head cast on, the seperate heads vary the height a bit. Foundry is noticably shorter. Old Glory seems a bit stiff and cartoony. Measurements from heal to eyeball are as follows: TAG – 26mm Bicorne – 27mm Renegade – 28mm Redoubt – 28mm Perry – 26mm Foundry – 24mm Old Glory – 25mm As you say, in their own units you'd never notice the difference, except maybe Foundry. Tho, there is a size difference within their range. Cliff |

Thanks Cli. It certainly shows how well the Old Glory figures have stood up over time. Rich |

I currently use the ECW figures in my Empire army. I have no GW handgunner figures, so my entire unit is ECW figures. They work perfectly fine, as long as you don't mix the units. It's not so much a size issue as the appearance becomes a bit jarring when you mix the GW figures with the ECW figures. |
