Taken the plunge and committed to 20 sprues as a minimum.

My thoughts were:

SET DESCRIPTION: Multi-part Indian Mutiny Mutineers, some with full kit and others with traditional costume. Majority musket armed with arm options for swords, drums and flags. The Multi-part approach (with head variants, bare,
turban, bearded, bushy moustache, Kilmarnock cap – with and without cover) will give the ragged look needed. There is only one viable competitor at the moment – Old Glory and the Foundry range is no longer complete or fully available.

REFERENCE MATERIALS: John French's Foundry Books on British in India and Central Asia. Reasonable references in the two Osprey books on the Indian Mutiny, very little else around.

I thought these would be a more viable option than asking for something more obscure from the conflict. Could do with some support here on this one. I have heard that Musketeer (?) are considering a new Indian Mutiny line. For me, the frustration is that I like the Old Glory figures a lot and have painted hundreds of them, but the Foundry ones are now submerged in silly packs "tribal warriors" etc and its nearly impossible to get units as such. I have 30 man mutineer regiments (currently 15 of them), but plan to create all of the regiments that mutined (47 I think). Added to that, I'm not a charity and won't be paying over £1.50 GBP per figure from Foundry, not when Old Glory are just as nice at half the price, it would be nice to have some options. I thought with seperate heads etc and maybe posable arms you could get some real variation in your mutineer regiments.

Cheers

Not sure how this is relevant to the 18thC.

Refs for mutineers, very little else around? Plenty including Mollo, Mason and probably half a dozen artcles in various copies of Battle, Military Modelling, WI etc etc.

I think that he just hit the wrong button when he was cross posting and hit 18th C instead of 19th C.

Good luck on your project, it sounds interesting.

Yes it does. What compatibility, I didn't see that mentioned at the link (unless it's OG)? Oh, I now see your hefty painting investment in OG mutineer units.

If MuskMinis do The Mutiny they'd be larger 28s? I sincerely hope they don't get off on yet another tangent before justice is, at long last, done to the GNW!

I'd think Perry compatibility would be helpful as their Carlist War British Legion and their new plastic British Napoleonics would offer some interesting conversion and one-off possibilities. Especially if WF makes a good variety of heads in the Mutineer's box.

I still have quite a few unpainted Foundry Indian Mutiny figures left over from my ongoing campaign game that was featured in Soldiers and Strategy magazine last December.

I wouldn't mind selling some of the unpainted ones off. You can see the painted versions at link

If Musket Minis were to start a completely new range from scratch before adding more GNW figures…

I think I have around 300 OG mutineers and there is plenty of variation of poses, the balance of mutineers (another 150 or so) are Foundry. The badmashes are a mix, tribesmen mainly Foundry.
