Subject: Potez 63.11
Manufacturer: Creations Chaubet link
Scale: 1/144
Medium: white metal
Price: 18,00€

The kit consists of a one piece fuselage/wing/tail assembly, landing gears, propellers, a machine gun, decals, and a bit of wire picture . The mini required a little cleaning but nothing too demanding. The kit has very fine lines identifying canopy and observation panels and windows. The control surfaces are also finely outlined. Holes for the landing gears are pre-drilled as is a hole for the pitot tube (very nice touch). The decals are separate from each other so you don't have to cut them out. The tail flash decal was a little smaller than the rudder but it was easy enough to add some red, white, and blue paint to extend the flash to and around the edge of the rudder. I like the look of the Vichy identification markings. I painted the yellow portion of the marking and applied red decal stripes to finish them.

Recommendation: Nice mini, I recommend it. If you can work with a True North miniatures mini you can work with this. The price for the mini might seem a bit high but for me the pre-drilled holes for the MG, landing gears, and pitot tubes are worth the extra money (not to mention the decals & unique model).

Check out the Creations Chaubet website (first link above) as there are some very interesting models there, many not available in 1/144 any place else.

Post assembly:
Decals: Creations Chaubet and Microscale (red stripes)
Paint: Vallejo Model Colors
Primer: Rust-Oleum Gray Automotive Primer
Matte Finish: Krylon Crystal Clear Matte

Hey, a P-39!

Great paint job, as always.

Am I reading that right? 38 Euros for a single kit of the P-39?
Oh, well…

John, it's 15 Euros for the kit or 38 Euros for a completed mini (assembled, painted, & decals applied). Kevin

Very nice, Kevin. The colorful markings look great.

Was each red stripe an individual decal?

miscmini Fezian11 Apr 2009 3:19 p.m. PST

svsavory, yes. Microscale sells stripes in different widths and colors. I chopped up several stripes (1/16" if I recall correctly) and applied them over a couple of days.

Looking Good!!! As usual, Kev. Bet they didn't have any trouble picking out their guys with those markings, did they?

Kevin does an excellent job. I had him prepare these for my collection. Now that they have arrived, I can tell you that they are even better than the photos indicate.
