Who knew the Germans built the equivalent of DUKWs? And used them in various East Front sea operations?

You can find out all about them, including getting 1:35 and 1:48 scale B&W drawings, plus lots of black and white photos and a 48-page section of color illustrations.

There are a couple of really nice 1:35 kits for this vehicle now – I am hoping somebody does a 1:48 kit (and not a $100 USD resin garage kit)

The LWS was basically a boat fitted with tracks, while the DUKW was a truck with a boat built around it. Fascinating design though. I thought the Soviets had taken inspiration for a few designs.
