Wow, I am impressed! Lovely scenery and models! And finally, did somebody did as well or better than Wittman? |
| Cheminsdefeu | 09 Apr 2009 9:51 a.m. PST |
Some people do not get very far, but one guy, after a very bad start, did better than Wittman, destroying or putting to flight all the British and coming back with it's Tiger unharmed ! Anyway, it was fun for everybody and that is the important thing ;-) |

Excellent looking vehicles, figures, and terrain. It almost looks like a movie set. Well done! |

Nobody want to comment on the prospect of a new figure range (modern Russians). Personally, I think this is cracking news (not to detract from the cracking Villers Bocage game). As a moderns gamer this means more choice and hopefully (with the new Fieldworks buildings) a Grozny game may now be possible! Exciting times! |

I know the "human" figures are 28mm, but what scale does that make the vehicles? 1:? |
| Cheminsdefeu | 09 Apr 2009 11:54 a.m. PST |
We choose 1/48th scale for all our vehicles many years ago and are visualy very happy with it. Please not a new discusion on 1/48 or 1/56th scale ;-) |

Great looking game and good idea to do modern Russians (and Chechens
?) w. |

I promise I won't start the scale fight if you tell me A) Is that a static board, or are the roads modular? B) How'd you make the roads? Otherwise, I SWEAR I'll not only start the 1/48 vs 1/56 fight, I'll even throw in 1/50 and 1/43! I'm on the edge! :) |
| vogless | 09 Apr 2009 2:55 p.m. PST |
Seriously though, one of the finest set ups I've seen. |
| Jagdtiger | 09 Apr 2009 4:48 p.m. PST |
Pretty sweet Chemin, did any of the players get or have any surprises when they ran their Tiger or British units? And what was the No 1 killer for those who lost the Wittmann Tiger? Also, how many british tanks were involved overall? Cheers, loved the battlefield and models, great job over there!! Tom |

That's awesome terrain, vehicles and figures. I'm quite impressed. |
| Mocaiv | 09 Apr 2009 5:22 p.m. PST |
It was a great looking display, a well deserved winner. |
| donlowry | 09 Apr 2009 7:34 p.m. PST |
Really awesome terrain. Models are great too! |
| Cheminsdefeu | 10 Apr 2009 2:34 a.m. PST |
To Vogless A) Is that a static board, or are the roads modular? It is a static board made of modular 60cm x 60cm panels that you can arrange a number of way B) How'd you make the roads? Their curved form is first sculpted in the styrofoam base panel, then wallpaper with the correct design is glued on it and painted To Jagdtiger No real surprise, just one guy getting the main gun of the Tiger out of action by a very assiduous Stuart 37mm. The main killer of the Tiger was bad timing (to slow action) of is part and then succumbing to overwhelming number of British Cromwels tank
in fact, to be a "Wittman" you really need a lot of luck ;-) |

Thanks for the info Chem! |

Sorry if I touched a sensitive area with my question about scale. I didn't know there was an on-going argument about what to use. The men certainly look right with the models in your pictures. I have an eclectic collection of 1:76/20mm stuff I haven't used in years, and sizable collection of late-war 1:285 that I've lately revived an interest in. I've never seen 28mm WWII stuff in the "flesh" (pewter? plastic?). (Have seen a few 1:48-scale tanks, years ago.) What size table did you use? |

That's a beautiful looking game! I made a last minute decision not to go to Salute, which I'm now regretting! |
| Cheminsdefeu | 11 Apr 2009 1:48 a.m. PST |
To Donlowry What size table did you use? Our current gaming table are 180cm x 240cm, but for demo it depend. I think the greatest we have done was 180cm x 540cm. |

I was at Salute, and completely missed this game, which was a great pity, as it looks very impressive! |

Cheminsdefeu, Great Game. Do you have a referance map and Order of battle for the positioning of the forces that you would be willing to share? Thanks, 7th Cav |

To Seventhcav Do you have a referance map and Order of battle for the positioning of the forces that you would be willing to share? You can find all the informations needed in "Villers-Bocage through the lens" by Daniel Taylor, an After the Battle publication. |
