I am running a Hordes of the Things campaign weekend in June ( link ). I thought maybe I should run a quick play-test of my Campaig System ( link ). It's sort of cross between the rules as presented in the book and the boardgame Diplomacy – secret simultaneous movement being the major tweak. I recruited seven players to play by email – one seasonal turn per day, we'll play for a week, see how things turn out.
Well already this has been a TONNE of fun
All of the players have REALLY gotten into the roles and there has been much negotiating and alliance forming and trash-talking over the past day
I'd love to share all of that but some of it is
well
secret communiqués that could compromise the plans of a couple of the alliances
I'm definitely going to have to start an extended email campaign in June after the Campaign Weekend
except with weekly turns so I can actually play out the battles that take place and write reports for those as well
So far the players all placed their Field Armies. There is a post on my blog reporting that here:

After much negotiation, threats, and proclaimations the players submitted their turns and I worked out the results. A report of these can be found here:

Amanda and I actually did play out one of the battles on the table top for fun fun last night. A report of that action can be found here:

I expect another flurry of negotiations, etc via email this afternoon – stay tuned for the results of the summer turn this evening!
