Hello, I'm looking for a source of 54mm shields and melee weapons suitable for a Greek or Roman time frame. Particularly Gladiator style weapons. The rules I use do call for a figure to lose a weapon or shield and it lands in a specific hex as a result of a combat critical hit. I'd like to mark the spot with something nicer than a red glass stone or scrap of paper, if possible. This would be regular round, square and large Roman style shields, and virtually any kind of melee weapon (I guess I need short swords, axes, tridents, spears and knives the most).

Anybody out there have a suggestion?

Thanks.

Walt

You might be able to cut up some of the Plastic Spartan figures from Conte.

A good bet might be some of the fancy buttons with classicaly inspired images. These might make good round sheilds. Look at Hobby Lobby, or some of the big fabric stores.

You might try something cheap like the Supreme playsets. Check out michtoy.com

Not at their per-figure cost, thanks. :-D

Thanks for the button idea, I like that.

Still going to go the Fancy Button route, but it's nice to mix and match weapons and such.
