We tried a different scenario for Battlfields. The battle takes place after the Battle of Endor and the formation of the New Republic.

An Imperial Super Star Destroyer was badly crippled in the Kessel system. The Empire managed to drive the Rebels (New Republic Forces) off, and they had sent a task force to protect it while they try to repair the ships systems.

Meanwhile the Rebels have sent another fleet in to finish the job. Upon reaching the Kessel System they discover the Imperial ships guarding the SSD. They send a message for the back up fleet to jump in to the system and help mop up the Imperials.

The battle in the Kessel System:

However the Imperials have another fleet on station with an Interdictor (the Black Asp)! They drag the relief force out of hyperspace short of the Kessel system. Now the relief force must disable the Black Asp so they can escape and jump to Kessel.

So we have two battles taking place simultaneously, but on separate tables. The benefit of doing this was that it allowed the two tables to play at their own speeds, while still allowing for interaction between the two battles.

The Relief force tries to fight through to the Interdictor:

The Admonitor crushes a rebel MC80, but then faces 2 B-wing squadrons without fighter protection. It soon learns to respect the power of the B-wings and their torpedoes!

The Rebels did destroy the Super Star Destroyer (B-wings again ) . The relief force actually was in trouble, but they did manage to take down the Admonitor

Overall a fun scenario and we managed to get 12 people into the game without bogging down too much by splitting it into 2 tables of 6.

Thanks to all the players. They were great sports!
