Joe,

Your later list of photo groups should have been their own thread; I almost didn't follow this thread to the end.

Himmel! The German museums alone had my mouth dropping.

Back to the Salute series, were the Znutnar and the Dunstable Generals' hulk the only space ships played? I'm something of fan of fleets burning noiselessly in the aether. I noticed Ground Zero's, Kallista's, Pendraken's, et. al, booths there, but no Full Thrust, no Starmada, no Iron Stars, not even the venerable SFB?

An answer of 'such are beneath my dignity to piccie' would be something I'm used to, but say there were SOME played…

Not that the rest will not fill my dreams for days!

Others:

"I was amused to see the 3D version of "Awful Green Things From Outer Space." The board game upon which it is based (originally published by TSR) was designed by my friend and former employee, Tom Wham! I wonder if he knows it has been done as a miniatures game."

I've done a smaller, less lovely version using the original Dragon version. ;->= Never made it to a con with it, though. I've an Aliens board I'm rather proud of, distant cousin and all.

John Treadway:

"I think that the differences between US and UK shows (from evidence I've only read about, you understand, having never been to one in the US but having been to ones in the UK and Europe)) are:"

One thing also, at the big cons, demo games are often set up in the dealer area, part of individual booths. Dealer space often given up for such, which I don't think happens often in the UK.

When our store sets up at the small cons we attend, we are sometimes given a table nearby to play and demo. Small cons often have a single room with dealers around the edge, and playing tables in the middle.

Having a place where we can demo product, draw crowds to be close to the table, but mostly have a place to play that allows us to watch our wares if VERY nice.

My, how I do go on, eh?

Thanks for all the great pictures, the links to the dealers and all your hard work. I was very impressed with it all.

Fantastic Job with the photos, Thanks :) Now, I really want to go seeing all the displays of minis for sale and an the tables…
