We played out the battle of Schweinkopf today. The game was played on a 12x6 fully terrained table. We used simple house rules. The majority of our figures are "old school" including Peter Guilder painted Hinchcliffe, old school Hinchchliffes, Front Rank, Mirlton and Old Glory figures (not so old school)

Pictures say a thousand words…enjoy the gallery below

Looks like a great time was had by all. Any OOB available?

Excellent stuff, the Russian heavies are particularly nice. Do you have any links to information about the battle itself?

I was impressed by the painting – I'll leave it for the Nappie Nits to pick grin if applicable, but it was all fantastic looking to me. The terrain was very good, but most impressive was the photography, whoever did it did a truly fantastic job. I find it so hard to take a photo without shake and blur, even with a tripod. The slide show was neat too.

I really love it when someone presents their games for the rest of us to see like this.

I love the markers you made with the stones on it (I assume that's what they were). What did they denote (was there a difference between the 1 stone an 3 stone etc..).

Thanks for the compliments!
Y'all wouldn't believe it if I told you I'm using an ancient Sony 2.1 megapixel camera. It's so old that the memory chip is placed in an additional 3.5 inch floppy adapter! I then pull out the mem card and place it into a Sony reader. I can also use the 3.5in.function if I leave my reader at home. The photos were shot hand held. Thank goodness Sony has an "anti-shake" switch. I'm such an old git that my pictures would look like the vertical up and down at high speed. Sometimes the old tech works better than the new
The markers denote figure casualities. We're mostly products of public school in Texas so simple works best for us. We notate the number of casualities on a battalion by the number of rock-chits(be nice)on the battalion. Morale reductions are made for every 3 casualities. Battalions fight per figure and take account for casualities. In other words, a 12 figure unit with 4 casualities fights only with 8 figures. We use a dice per figure set for melee. This keeps the casuality caps, rings, rubber bands, paper rosters off the table. Sure they're replaced by rocks but they look better! Again, our group's gaming philosophy is take it slow, have fun, drink when appropriate, drink again, and keep things simple. Probably not all's cup o' cha' but hey…that's how the world goes round right? We tend to weed out rules lawyers, anal fistulas, and big egos…our egos are already large enough!
Wargames porn? Hmm….no comment…. :)

Again, thanks for the compliments.

The OOB was, if I remember correctly:

Three boxes and one shelf of French.
Two boxes of Austrians
Two boxes of Russians
