"Eye of Judgement" was a similar idea for the PS3. Using specially marked cards, and the PS3 webcam, the cards would 'come alive' on the tv screen as they were played

using bases with special symbols, you can pick up and then overlay information onto figures, such as weapons, attack ranges, etc.

The "HUD" is a mockup, they can't yet cheaply fit a camera and a display into a pair of head mounted glasses. But it will happen relatively soon.

Interesting though, since this could be used via webcams and a pc to keep track of units, etc.
