I've just seen this set for sale by Always Models in Thailand, but have not come across DARK ALLIANCE at all. They only appear to have the one fantasy set (in fact any set) available.

There is no picture of the figures, just the box art.

Have any of you seen these figures, or know anything about this companies products?

Cheers.

I have seen the same box art-at least on the box they look just like LOTR orcs. My guess is that this might be some sort of repackaging of Caeser Orcs by another company.

The seller seems to link them to the Russian company, Orion, though.

Strange.

it usually takes about a week from bryan to the UK, so should be able to let people know sometime this week.

Had noticed these myself while looking for 20mm moderns. Thanks for offering to post pics Jim!

Thanks Indeed! I'd be interested in seeing the Orc Pics myself. Looking forward to it!

On another related note, at Cold Wars, Goblin Factory had a booth in the dealer hall. I took the time to compare his 25mm goblins with a 1/72 scale Late Roman soldier I brought along. At first I thought that the goblins were comparatively small. But realizing how stooped over they were, I realized that if they were standing straight up, they would be PERFECT size for 1/72 scale Orcs! They include Wolf Riders as well.

Ideal for LotR Orcs from the book. Relatively unarmored and hunched over.

I did not see Rebel Minis there so I could not compare the Bag o Orcs for size. From their look, they would make good Uruk-Hai. Of course, the look of Dark Alliance stuff might also fit the bill too!

I received pictures of the Dark Alliance orcs from Bryan at Always Models. They do not appear to be re-boxed Caesar orcs.

Hmmmmm, I wonder what other fantasy sets will arise out of the Dark Alliance line…

Jayster19 Mar 2009 2:38 a.m. PST

They do look pretty good, and although you can't really see the faes that well, look as though they would fit in quite nicely alongside the Caesar ones.

I will also bee keeping an eye on the Dark alliance fantasy output.

– I can see I'll be needing to place an order with Bryn in the not too far distant.

They are somehow affiliated with Orion. On the Orion forum the moderator explained that Dark Alliance will represent the 'forces of darkness', and another line, Light Alliance, will have the elves, etc.

they have arrived!

exactly as momoiro's picture shows. The box has 4 sprues exactly the same. They are much more 'war of the ring' style than the caesar orcs, although they would mix very well size wise. Mine have absolutely no flash at all,

A bit of a late post here. I just finished painting and basing these for HotT (albeit with goblins) and I prefer them over Caesar Miniatures' orcs, mainly because of the similarity in style with the film LOTR orc versions.

They paint up easily but the flash is terrible. You'd need a really sharp knife here.

Nice! Been forever since I played HoTT.
