To start things off Mr. Miller, Amanda and I played four games on friday evening involving Dwarves and Elves and a cavalry heavy army of Humans. A brief report and pictures of that action can be found on my blog here:

Then Saturday evening Darrin and Amanda played a couple quick games trying out different combinations of Orcs and Elves. A brief report and a few more pictures of that action can be found on my blog here:

I've been following this HOTT caper of yours. T'is very impressive. I especially like the bases.

Would you mind sharing the dimensions, please?

The figures bases or the terrain tiles?

For the figures I use the suggested 60mm frontage. Most infantry have a depth of 40mm so I can put two ranks on as I think it makes it look more like a "unit". Orc Warbands and hordes are on 60x60mm bases. the mounted are on 50mm or 60mm depths bases – whichever seems appropriate. One of the dragons is on a 60x80mm base. magicians 60x60.

The terrain tiles are 30cmx30cm (or multiples of 30cm) mostly because I buy sheets of stuff that are 4'x8'. Because you loose a bit to the saw blade you can't get 48 1'x1' tiles- but you can get 48 30cmx30cm tiles (not that I've MADE 48 tiles just yet….).

I'm also very impressed with your figures, and the double ranking for infantry looks far better to me (I do the same for my DBA/HOTT gaming).

There are some who claim a critical aspect of the game is lost if the base depths aren't as recommended. I personally haven't missed it a lick, and much prefer the improved visual spectacle.

"The figures bases or the terrain tiles?"

It was the figure base dimensions I was after, but thanks for providing the tile specs as well.

I very much like the double ranking. I believe I'll have to give this a try.

Thanks again.
