I have just published the next phase of our WHAA campaign on my blog: ooh-shiny-complex.blogspot.com Attentive readers will remember that Griselda, the baker's daughter, has been kidnapped by goblins. Brother Cedric and his doughty followers are hot on their trail. Following a couple of battles with goblins, Brother Cedric's group is reduced to just Cedric, Konrad and Sigismund, all Brethren Knights in the service of the Red Sun. After the last battle, a single Black Moon Goblin escaped. The three Brethren Knights are hot on the goblin's trail and have followed him to a cave in the nearby hills. They are certain that Griselda is held within
It was a great fun game and played quickly. I quite like running WHAA almost like a D&D session rather than as a straight head-to-head skirmish game, and it works really well like this. All we need now is WHAA book 2 with skills and attributes. Hope you enjoy it, Ruarigh |

and his doughty followers are hot on their trail If she's the baker's daughter, shouldn't it read a bit more like:
and his baker's dozen of doughy followers, armed with bear claws, ready for a roll, kneading to rescue the fair maiden flour of their village, in search of the fowl yeasts that had stollen her? |

Groan! I had considered all the puns, but I doughnut think they would have enhanced the story. After all, I wanted the report to be organic and not to use additives. :-) |

Good example of how the random exploration rules work underground. Maybe there's a company of warriors being held in another nearby cave? |

Sorry Wukong
I just had to chime in

S'alright, Andrew. I only groaned because I appreciate the puns. The dungeon is made using WorldWorksGames' Caveworks set and elements from the Crystal Caves set. They are pdfs that you buy and then print out the bits you need before constructing them. One day I hope to actually build everything I have printed out. Printing new sets is addictive! You can find them here: link Building this small dungeon was actually quite quick and easy, although I did bash the rooms because Caveworks comes with free-standing walls that can be easily knocked around. |
