I am interested in getting some of the 1/200th Coastal ships and flying planes, but was wondering what rules to get.

I play Warhammer Historical The Great War in 10mm and would use these for fightinmg any landings.

I've got some of these and they're very nice but I'm still waiting for a set of rules to use them with. I've though of using Action Stations, which cover WW1 but will probably use David Manley's Schnelle rules for Schnelleboote with a few modifications. Not sure how you'd do amphibious landings though?

Hi,

Where can I get a copy of David Manley's Schnelle rules for Schnelleboote?

Rich.

I really only need to extract the data from the existing lists for the WW1 era boats e.g. the CMB's, and then work out stats for the ones that aren't included e.g. the Luftschiffmotorboote.

After that I need to develop a few scenarios e.g. the raid on Kronstadt, channel sub chasing, rescuing downed air crew etc. I'd like to build in some roleplaying elements too, given the larger scale and small size of the vessels involved.

I'm still looking for some furter sources of historical information for this…any ideas?

And I need some simple rules for coastal subs too.

There are some good ideas in the Action Stations! campaign rules for East Africa on the Northhead Miniatures site.

I am only just starting to look at WW1 costal forces but found these.

There is a book on the raid on Kronstadt.

Operation Kronstadt by Harry Furquson. Aamzon says the paperback will be out in may.

Osprey have 2 books on WW1 submarines 1 for the British and the other for the Germans.

I do not have these books, I have the WW2 MTB and E boats books by osprey. I will have a look to see if they anything on WW1 in them.

Rich.

I'm sure these could be adapted and/or used as inspiration for similar small boat actions in the Caspian, Baltic, White Sea etc?

I've also got one of these kits for use as a potential target:

I was lucky enough to pick up the kit in a discount shop for about £5.00 GBP but you can also find it on ebay.

There are some 1/200th scale card models by Orlik including torpedo boats, destroyers etc that could be used alongside the Langton models, althiugh you'd need a big table!

I've been waiting for the kronstadt book to be issued in paperback but will snap one up when it does come out.

I've got the Osprey WW1 British subs book though and it's very good. I picked it up after reading an old paperback about British submarines in the Dardanelles. I can't remmeber the title of the book but will have a look for it when I get home this evening.
