Having seen the WARLORD GAMES plastic ECW, & changed my pants after all the excitement, I'm thinking of adapting LotOW for ECW. I can borrow the pike rules from LotRSG, anyone else tried this or got any thoughts? |

We've played several 'large scale' skirmish games using the basic LotR rules (cavalry get to fire a pistol before meleeing, instead of throwing a spear), and they've worked well. For the black powder and armour aspects of ECW I went to the LotRVariants Yahoo group where you can find stats for Conquistadores which we find work as near as damn it. Check the website: Spirit of the Game -they're about to put up LotR amendments for 1588/Border Rievers. And, of course, LotR rules are useful for ECW sieges. |

I bet ole' Gandolf is a major "b" in defense right? :) |

Strikes me the stats for Custer would carry over well for Prince Rupert, even down to the 'trademark item' |

If playing seige skirmishes, using WARLORD plastics what would I do with the pikes for the defenders- cut 'em down to half pikes, or convert to halberds? or something else? |

Played it tonight actually :) Using LOTR SBG rules and 4 players with 350pts each, plenty of terrain and a capture the bridge scenario – worked a treat. |

Managed to aquire 2 freebie warlord firelock musketeers so I can try this out
with a very small scale skirmish! Got some GW stone walls I can fight over

Not impressed, looking at the box set of 'firelock muskeeter storming party' only one body poses! Good trick to train men to rush to assault in step? |

I've just uploaded the rules and army generation spreadsheet if you are interested. See here: link |

Hi, Has anyone used the WOTR rules for ECW. Rich. |
| Major Mishap | 23 Feb 2010 12:55 a.m. PST |
I've had a go but it never got of the drawing board as I couldn't get round the problem of having mixed model types in a formation (pike & shot) that successfully overcome the design of WOTR in that all models must be the same – any idea's. It's a shame as WOTR works better for playing ancients than it does LOTR's. |
