I took some photos of this jam-packed toy soldier and wargaming store this morning during a quick visit over to Gettysburg! If you have never been there while visiting Gettysburg, shame on you! It's a definite MUST for all gamers and figure collectors. link |

John is our mentor and namesake, offering support and encouragement when we launched our painting studio a few years ago. He has also been a great supporter of the HMGS events, hosting Historicon and Fall-In promos, sidewalk artist, and gaming demos in front of the store. At Fall-In, check out his ACW games in 54mm, they are spectacular! Larry GettysburgSoldiers.com |

Was there last summer, and while nice, found it waaaaaay too crowded
and kept checking to see if someone was trying to lift my wallet from all the people bumping into me. Also sadly found three items that I liked and wanted,
Each item had three different prices on them. When I asked him "what the real price on each item was, NATURALLY it was always "the most expensive", so they stayed at the shop
hope they found new owners

John has a great little store, and as you said Scott, I believe he is planning on expanding which will make it even better. I didn't know that the tour center next to him had closed permanantly. That will be great if he gets a good portion of that. |

The tour center next to Gettysburg Miniature Soldiers closed permanently, as did the sister operation farther down the street across from the Dobbin House. the main tour center on East Cemetery Hill remains open. Don't know about the fourth one over on U.S. 30 / York Road. |

How have I missed this gem in my trips through Gettysburg!?! I must have been by it's storefront a hundred times or so. Several while walking. Talk about blind! |

Wow! Thanks for posting this Scott! One of these days I plan on visiting Gettysburg and often wondered if there were any game stores in the area. Now I know! Salut y'all! Bruce the Texas Grognard |

I stopped by last week and picked up the Perry Plastic ACW infantry and John is now selling some of my prints. I am now even a bigger fan! Dennis Morris diographics.com |

I saw Dennis's prints in person at John's shop – they are gorgeous!!! They would look great in a gaming room. |

The tour center next to John's store is NOT affilated with tour center across from the Dobbin House – that one is a sister operation of the bigger tour center on Baltimore street – it is the Gettysburg Tour Center, otherwise known as GTC – the one next to John's was Gettysburg Group Reservation – GGR – John Latscher drove them out of business when one of the women there got into a great cat fight with Latscher wife – so – Latscher put the squeeze on them and got an entire family fired – and then just drove them out of business or had them bought up by the Gettysburg Foundation – The GTC business which donated over a million dollars to the new Visitor Center – is now or rather always has been since the thing opened – been forced to pay a fee to be "allowed" to run their buses on the battlefield - |

Thanks! I have made this slight adjustment to the text. I noticed quite a few reenactors visiting John's shop yesterday during the 4th Annual Reenactor Appreciation Weekend at Gettysburg. I hope his business was strong

As an FYI, John is planning to expand his store later this year and add even more inventory! |
