Hi All. Does anyone know of a manufacturer making SS in the Kharkov suits suitable for Manstein's counteroffensive in Feb-March 1943? Sadly, Battlefield have discontinued their excellent "Bitter Winter" range, and I know only of Elhiem's single pack of figs otherwise. Ideas would be most welcome. |

Caesar Set H005 German Infantry with Winter Gear Yes, they are plastic, but they are of good size and paint up nicely for any period from Kharkov through Ardennes. They can double for SS or others. I think that they are quite nice. Fantassin (War Modeling) have a good range of Winter Gear that mix nicely with the Ceasar. Also nice figs that paint up well. |

I think TQD just did a huge group build of these in 20mm. |

Thanks Stu! I probably don't have the scratch to get in on a group build, sadly, because you make fabulous figures! As for the Ceasar figures, they are "Winter Germans" but not in the Kharkov suit. They are quite good, but they look off when based with my Battlefield Kharkov Germans--just enough to bug me. (I have quite a few of the Ceasar figs already painted and based.) So, thanks to all! I will keep looking, and if you can afford to get in on Stu's group builds at TQD, do so! They are awesome! |

TST Modellismo do some. However, some have Panzerfausts and MP44's so you need to remove those. link And the Caesar set works fine since such winter uniforms also were worn at Kharkov. Do a youtube search for "Charkow" and you will find some Wochenschau clips showing the battle. Good luck! |

Thanks! Those are nice figures, and just what I'd like. A bit of Panzerfaust surgery wouldn't be too difficult! |
