I got the Zvezda Age Of Battles 1380 Kulikovo's Battle as a result of an impulse buy for about $28. USD It comes with a pile of fair looking miniatures, rules, paper terrain, and etc. I don't know yet if the rules are any good. It looks like the main rules may be the same for all sets.Do the smaller boxes of Zvezda figures come with "Troop List" sheets? |

No (at least no longer). But you can download them from their website. They have 4 rulesets which are using the same basics: Ancient & medieval; Samurai; Napoleonics; Fantasy BTW: Their newer figures look better than the older ones contained in the set you bought. Check them out on plasticsoldierreview.com |

The rules are akin Warhammer Ancients with D20 but, IMO read better and are more comprehensive – battle fatigue for instance Bucket "o" Dice though (which I kinda like) and all in one book (now there's a concept – think of all the army books they're missing out on) |

i have to disagree with cry havoc, i bought several sets of zvezda figures over the last month from different retailers, all had the stat sheet for 'age of battles' in the box. i'm in the UK, if that makes a difference? regards jim |

Maybe. I bought quite a bit of them over the last 2 years in Germany and they did not have any stats in them and did not even mention that there are rules avaible. Which I always found weird. They only boxes which had gaming information inside were fantasy boxes. Zveda doesn´t seem to push the rules much. They had a booth at Spiel in Essen and did not display the rules. |

The rules are a bit odd to read. Maybe due to a not so great Russian to English Translation. |

Actually Castellan is right – there are some literal translations that you have to think about the context to understand the English wording that should be used When I said "read better" I meant there is more to them than Warhammer. I'm English and obviously I can't write the language so the Russian Guys haven't done too bad :-) |

The set is a good deal. I think the rules will work out when I get around to using them. It looks like the main rule book will work with any army. I hope the small boxes have the Troop List. If not maybe figure some out myself or buy other box sets. I'm kinda excited about all the neat 1/72 scale stuff. I' gonna get more. |

I bought a copy of Age of Battles "Kulikovo's Battle" on Ebay, but the rules were in Russian and in the cyrillic alphabet. The seller included an English copy of the overall rules for the Age of Battles game system, but there are 4 pages of rules that are specific to Kulikovo's Battle that I only have the Russian copy of that was included in the box. Is there anywhere I can get an English copy of those rules (without buying another copy of the game)? Any help would be appreciated. |

If you can scan them and send them to me at vsadneek at hotmail dot com I could translate them. I'm not so good at doing english to russian but can usually make a decent translation into english. I've seen these sets when I was in Russia and have thought of picking them up even here in Canada but never did. |

The Age of Battles website ageofbattles.ru/?lng=eng has Troop Lists (indicated by T.L.) for most of their individual troop boxes, e.g. link For what you get, the large army sets offer great value. I have "Rome: The Great Battles", which includes enough troops (8 sets equaling 209 troops, including 2 nicely sculpted war elephants) to table four different armies covering battles from 197BC to 53BC. |
