Saddam's Troops – what did they look like?

Or anyone got any links to photos of them? Even most of the Iraqi tank photos you can find seem to be of destroyed ones!

Otherwise, any good figure manufacturers, especially in 20mm?

Thanks in advance.
:-)

In lieu of some great jokes about "any figures with a grand look of suprise" I present to you pics of the Republican Guard:

Please note that the above pics appear to be pre-battle. I will avoid posting the aftermath shots.

The Beret seems to be the common theme there.

Here's the ceremonial helmet…you can actually see these being worn by regular troops in the field:

Wonder if they played the Imperial March?

I like Devil Dog Design's, but they are heroic 30mm.

For 20mm miniatures try Liberation (RH Models in the UK, Syr Hobbs in the US--not sure if Syr Hobbs carries Iraqis, but they can order them in).

Ah, the Darth Vader helmet.
They may praise the lord Udai/Kusai were no Eldar fan.

Thanks for the information so far.

Strange, isn't it: there's a dearth of photographs of the Iraqi army, yet there were all sorts of uniform colours, from camouflaged paratrooper uniforms to tank crew overalls.

The norm seems to be a thin cotton shirt with trousers, British style belt, old American WW2-style helmet high chest webbing and jackboots, with British-style berets for officers.

The Republican guard seem to be in grey-green or olive.

Some of the photos I collected here (scroll down):
