Scott, A very proud moment for you, I'm sure,especially with that review! You'll have copies of it available for Reenactor Appreciation Weekend in Gettysburg this March? I look forward to buying a copy, myself. It is a part of the local history that I know very little about, but interests me, greatly. |

York feebly surrendered to the oncoming Confederates without putting up a fight, unlike other nearby towns. CSA flags waved from the hotels and balconies as John Gordon's brigade marched through town, and several residents hosted Rebel officers for dinner parties. For a Pennsylvania town, it had far more Copperheads than most other cities north of the Mason-Dixon Line. |
