Hello Again,
These are the 1/32 classic Cromwells, I jazzed them up a bit with an Airfix Commander, and some additional stowage, plus some scrim net polishing rag, camo netting.

No good to me, too large for my 1/35 force, but I think E-bay may have to 'ave 'em!

Many thanks

John

Whosoever gets them will be happy, those are museum quality pieces. If I wasn't wed to 1/56, I'd bid on them (he says while making sure his wife isn't looking over his shoulder).

Superb work, I`ve saved that to favourites as I have a Cromwell to do in 20mm and needed good photos to work off.

Thanks for the link John – excellent stuff, top class.

Pretty! Let the group know when you ebay 'em! I have a buddy who is looking for some.

Good stuff!
The netting really improves their look making them look more realistic.

Fabulous.

But I'm delighted to hear that I was not hallucinating and that Airfix did 1/32 Cromwells. I have one (in a box deep in my parents' basement) and, I think, a Hanomag. SOme years ago, when I asked about this people assured me that Airfix never did one. They might have been thinking of the HO-OO scale, though.

Are the 1/32 Airfix models still available?

Why do you call it Porn … everybody has their clothes on ? huh?

But the tank is naked …..apart from some see-through netting….

Ditto Bird

I too have had hallucinations about owning one as a kid, only to be met with blank stares when I mentioned it to other gamers.

so is that ditto Ditto?

And no – sadly not available. IIRC they did a PzIV as well as the 251. I had a 251 but no PzIV

The Cromwell, I cannot find, but there is a host of other stuff, the old Airfix Hanomag, Damiler, PZIV, plus Panthers,
Tigers, 88mms, Buffalos (!) and a load of other stuff;

Still got one somewhere – think it came in a set with a grey german half track (open topped) and figures, and 2 pill boxes that fired little plastic discs about the size of a 2p coin to knock the soldiers over.

This is the half track from the set

Got rid of mine as a kid does anyone remember the British pioneer set that came with all the extra tools etc?

Ditto Tango 2 117 Feb 2009 3:32 p.m. PST

Wow, the Airfix 1/32 range really was quite different from the HO-OO.

John, are they really that much bigger than 1:35?

Tim, yes, very much so,
I was going to 'cut and shut' these two to make a challenger 17pdr, with the extra length hull and extra roadwheel, but SKP released a kit of the Chally, so I took the easy route, and bought one of them instead.

Some bloke in France got them both, from E-Bay, nice price for me, to buy another 1/35 Sherman regiment!

Thanks again for the nice comments, now to set about another 14 Shermans!
