Played a quick CY6 game tonight, playtesting a scenario which will be one of the first for my upcoming Malta campaign.

In order to keep it simple, all aircrew were rated Skilled, and the forces consisted of 3 Hurricane IIb's v 3 Sm79's and 3 Macchi 200's.

The scenario was that the Italian bombers had bombed and were returning to Sicily, escorted by a small section of Macchi's who had enough fuel to stooge around and protect them. The Hurricane's entered at level 4 & 5, with the Macchi's at lvl 6 and the Bombers at level 4.

It was a good game, resulting in 1 hurricane shot down, pilot killed, 1 hurricane bugging out after rolling out of ammo. He climbed out of the fight, but since he had neither climb or dive superiority had to roll to see if he made it back. Somewhere the Air Sea Rescue service is trying to find him…
The remaining Hurricane took an engine hit and although stayed in the fight, the bombers quickly moved out of range from him.

In return the Hurricanes got an engine hit on one Macchi, another bugged out having also rolled out of ammo, and two of the SM79's had airframe damage. All 3 damaged italian aircraft rolled safely to return to base.

A few pictures (apologies for the lighting, I really need to get some new lights in my conservatory.)

Good Malta report…
Sure would like to see some side pics of the SM 79's. The figter looks great.

As you probally read here on the AAR section the Battle barn is also working on a Malta scenario using WBiM rules. We will be running it at Cold Wars in March.
