Check this out: picture link "On the remote planet of Aletha Three, a genetically engineered creature with the unstoppable killing instinct of earth's most ancient predators has begun stalking the struggling population. Armed only with his dad's old rifle, cowboy Travis must find out where the predator came from and how he can stop it – before it gets a taste for people, instead of cattle." CC |

I think it might be fun to get a close look of that Space Cowboy novel: picture Even though it might be for younger readers, there's gotta be lots of fun gaming ideas in there, don't you think? CC |

Hm. You know, I just picked up a bunch of random gaming stuff at a garage sale
and found an old copy of Space Gamer with a cover article about adapting the Boot Hill rules to work with a "cowboys and dinosaurs" scenario
written by some guy named Armintrout

2) with "cowboy" space pioneers/colonists trying to fight off alien resistance? Wasn't that the veiled theme of a TV show several years ago? Since I don't watch TV (but overheard it from some co-workers) that ran for a tleast two seasons? Or maybe it just seemed longer. I know that "ought to have been lost in pre-production" has run forever

For anyone interested in a twisted take on Cowboys & Aliens, Alan Moore's America's Bext Comics series Tom Strong did an issue that involved aliens abducting an entire old west city. About 100 years later the hero and his talking gorilla pal discovered the city returned atop a mesa and helped keep its existence a secret from the outer world. The entire TS series tells one long tale and the cowboys pop up in several other issues along with a cool "horse" and a three-eyed outlaw cowboy. In all the book is excellent stuff for sci-fi/pulp/old west/WW II/super hero fodder. |

Anybody remember the series in 2000ad called "Flesh" where people from the future invent a time machine and go back to dinosaur times and hunt them to send the meat back to the future for the starving population
.they looked like cowboys too???? Some great scenarios there
