Hello,

I'm hope ya'll can help me out. I like the old style of the IG Storm Troops, the ones with the berets before they changed them to the haz-mat looking suits.

Or any minis similar to them I got a specific theme in mind for my IG army.

Thanks for your time.

I had a similar dilemma a while back, and there are quite a few figures out there that will work.

TAG or DDD Modern British infantry with berets (if you add
power packs these are perfect, IMO).

Warzone Blood Berets/Golden Lioins.

Copplestone/EM4 Troopers with berets (already mentioned)

Any WW2 Brits with berets and rifles, will take a little conversion.

Existing GW Cadian infantry with bare heads, sculpt on the berets.

I know there are more but can't think of them at the moment.

Good luck,

Jason

Weren't there plastic GW IG troopers at one time with berets and sword in hand? I believe they were 10-12 in a box and were all identical.

Broken Halo, the ones I recall came six to a box and carried hellguns but no swords. Perhaps the ones with swords were an earlier incarnation?

Never been any GW stormtroopers with berets and swords.

Those hellgun models were the first incarnation of the IG stormtroopers.

However, the plastic hellgunners were accompanied by separate metal sergeants (swords and pistols), special weapons and heavy weapon teams.

Would there be some manufacturer making separate WWII British heads with berets?

I believe West Wind Miniatures has some seperate heads that might work.

Also, the MoFo line through Gripping Beast has some nice Falklands-era British heads wearing berets.

"Never been any GW stormtroopers with berets and swords."

There *may* have been a sergeant with a blade, but the original stormtroopers certainly had the berets. Their default weapon was the juiced-up lasgun known as the hellgun.

The old beret stormtroopers do not have carapace armor. Maybe the new codex will allow this.

Mofo miniatures has a variety of modern heads some with berets. You could put them on Cadians if the beret is the deciding factor.

In the current Codex, you could possibly use them as Hardened Veterans. No Hellguns, but better stats and the like. No idea about the new one.

Actually, now I check there is a sergeant with hotshot laspistol and sword over the shoulder. They were never sold as a box though. The range was sergeants, special weapons troopers and heavy weapons teams all in metal plus six identical boxed plastic troopers.

I have used the Copplestone figs with the Imperial Guard – they mix together well
