What shades would you suggest for my 12mm ARVN tracks and tanks. I use GW, Foundry and Vellejo.

Many thanks

Jim

I like the Vallejo Brown Violet (it's really a drab olivish green – always ignore the name on the Vallejo bottles).

I prime white then apply the color in a thin almost wash-like coat.

Postwar OD was a bit darker than WWII OD. I'd use the OD with a touch of black added…

All my Vietnam era equipment is airbrushed with Tamiya OD, which is fairly dark.

If using GW, mix approx 5 parts Bubonic Brown with 1 part black for a fairly dark OD color.

I've found GW Foundation Gnarlac Green to be quite pleasing for "smaller scale" tanks and helos (ok, we're talking 1/600 scale here…) It might be a touch too "green" for what you want though. I'd mix Vallejo Brown-Violet with either US Uniform Green, or US Dark Green.

I had a look at the Knarloc Green and ummed and arhed a bit too. It's not too far off but might be a bit 'loud' unless I shaded it down with some judicious weathering. The Vallejo Brown Violet option looks like a possibility, so I'll give it a go and see what happens :O)

Thanks chaps
