I've done a bit of digging lately and pulled out a few of my Clan War miniatures. Some of them are painted OK, not embarassingly badly at least. So I took pictures: A converted undead Moto Cavalryman: picture A Naga Swordsman: picture And a water elemental: picture I've got a few more pictures in my Clan War Gallery: link I probably painted all those guys in about 1999 or so.. it's painful to see how little my painting skills have progressed since then. -Alex |

Nice photos Alex! Here is my last Clan Wars paint job which I did this fall for Enfilade 2008! link I hate it when I look back and see how much I've improved, and yet I haven't gotten better than some of my friends who have been painting half as long as I have! |

Alex: They all look great; and as already noted that Naga is particularly nicely painted & photographed. Regards, Dean |

Can War, the minis were good, and in the late 90s, it looked like there were a lot of companies that could give GW a run for their money. L5R had one of the strongest RPG backgrounds and most vocal fans, but I guess the RPG gamers didn't translate into miniature gamers. Miniatures were great though. I think if the larger dragon figures were reelased in plastic (maybe through kickstarter) they sell to fantasy fans, and if the personalities wee made in plastic, they'd sell to RPG fans. Eventually you'd be like GW in the 70s/80s, you'd have enough models available that bringing the tabletop game back would be a natural progression. |
